Monday

A long days cycling and we were greeted by our B&B host outside a supermarket with a horse box to accommodate our bikes!
Aparently we have not been the first to be rescued in this way!

On arriving at the B&B the view was fantastic and the food excellent.

Breakfast on Tuesday

Sunday 5th

Sunday 5th June

Catching up after a couple of hard days cycling.

Another long day from Orleans to Bannay just short of Sancerre. 127km along the Loire and much the same as yesterday with sections along the river under water. We ended up at a nice B&B but later than we wanted and had quick shower before getting a taxi into town for dinner, 3 km away. The breakfast next morning was a very full table of everything good for a days cycling. Home made jams and yogurt, fresh croissants and bread, ham, cheese, fruit, fruit salad, cake.

La Loire water level was high

First day

Hello again from the intrepid two.

Well, day 1 finished yesterday and too tired to post anything last night.

131 km upstream on the Loire from Tours to Orleans. We kept having to leave the trail for long sections otherwise we would have needed a paddle

Started to go through vineyards when the trail took us away from the river and lots of rolling fields

It was cloudy all day with a couple of hours of drizzle but no serious rain.
